Wyld Just Got Greener
We are officially a carbon neutral company!
Wyld has achieved Carbon Neutrality by measuring, reducing, and offsetting the greenhouse gas emissions produced by our overall operations, and have transitioned all Wyld facilities to 100% renewable energy. We believe in giving back to our earth what we have taken, and aim to minimize the impact of production on the environment.
This has been a dream since Wyld was founded, and we are so excited to finally announce this achievement. In typical Wyld fashion, we decided to accomplish the task before we announced it to the world!
Calendar Year 2021 Overall Emissions: 22,819 tCO2e*
*tCO2e = tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. GHG assessment has been quality assured by Ecometrica, an accomplished leader in sustainability reporting software.

Big Goals
By no means are we close to our goal of becoming eco-champions. But we are taking steps in the right direction and will be encouraging and challenging other businesses to follow our lead by offsetting their emissions, purchasing renewable energy and identifying areas within their production and packaging they can improve.
As we strive to become eco-champions we will continue advocating for nature, sharing what makes our planet spectacular, showing why we must protect it and of course, by planting more trees!
Wyld understands that Carbon Neutrality is not ambitious enough, and this is simply the first step on our journey to becoming a more sustainable company. It shouldn't take companies larger than us 30+ years to become carbon neutral because, by that time, it will be too late.
How Did Wyld Achieve Carbon Neutrality?
Wyld has achieved Carbon Neutrality by measuring, reducing, and offsetting the greenhouse gas emissions produced by our overall operations by way of Carbon Credits and Renewable Energy Certificates. Calendar year 2021 became our carbon footprint base year, our data inputs were verified by an independent 3rd-party and we are committed to publishing the results of our carbon inventory annually moving forward.
In order to procure enough Carbon Credits to effectively offset our residual emissions, Wyld worked with South Pole to purchase an additional 30%+ of credits to be certain that we are covered.

Description of Carbon Credit Projects
100% Renewable Energy
Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)
To match our 2020 energy usage for each office and facility, we purchased 963 RECs from the Wheat Field Wind Farm through Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF):
Wheat Field Wind Farm is located in Gilliam County near the city of Arlington in Oregon. The wind farm spans approximately 8,500 acres of private ranchland that overlooks the windswept banks of the Columbia River Gorge. Wheat Field has an installed capacity of 96.6 megawatts (MW).
Our purchase for 2020:
RECs Production Date: Sept 2020
Clean MWh Generated: 963 MWh (our 2020 usage)
This accomplishment opened the door for us to become one of the first companies to join the EPA's Green Power Partner List.
We have also committed to an open contract through BEF for 2021's usage, and have committed to the practice of sourcing 100% renewable energy indefinitely.
Our purchase was the equivalent of the electricity used to power nearly 90 average US homes for one year.
What's Next?
We view being Carbon Neutral as walking through the door to start the work, not the work itself. We must do more, we will do more.
Wyld understands that we need to take bold and immediate action to align with the global ambition towards achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Wyld is doing the following actions to improve our own emissions:
Wyld is pursuing a zero emissions pathway via Science Based Targets Business Ambition for 1.5C. We will publish our target once it has been established and verified. [Science Based Targets]
Wyld is committed to joining Climate Neutral Certified in 2022 and will continue the practice of measuring, offsetting and reducing emissions along the way. [Committed Brands]
We are focused on deep value chain decarbonization, some examples of the plans that we have in mind are:
Redesigning our current plastic child resistant packaging in the U.S. with more environmentally friendly materials
Launching our single use Fully Compostable child resistant pouches in Canada and beyond
Continuing to fund nonprofits and organize environmental projects and volunteering opportunities through our Community Relations department
Vetting our supply-chain further upstream
Working with our partners to encourage them to record their own carbon inventory
Continually incorporating energy efficient appliances, lights, and equipment in all our facilities
Reducing our waste water, and enhancing our waste diversion processes
